Good news for patients of Artemis Colorado – Vein & Cosmetic Center! We now offer varicose vein procedures done with the CoolTouch CTEV™ laser. This state-of-the-art instrument greatly reduces discomfort—and shortens procedure and recovery times—because it generates less heat then other lasers (hence the “cool touch”).
The CoolTouch CTEV™ laser provides an ideal treatment for the endovenous ablation of varicose veins. With lasers, varicose vein treatment is faster. With the CoolTouch CTEV™ laser, you experience a much more comfortable procedure—less pain, less bruising, and faster recovery than any other laser available. That’s because its super-fine (1320 nm) wavelength targets water in the vessel wall. Other lasers target hemoglobin, which typically increases discomfort and recovery time.
A procedure with the CoolTouch CTEV™ goes something like this: After administering anesthesia, the doctors gently insert a small hollow needle into the vein. A laser fiber is then threaded through the needle along the length of the vein. When the “CoolTouch” laser is turned on, the length of the vein collapses as the fiber is pulled back. That troublesome vein is no longer able to cause you discomfort–physical or aesthetic. It’s gone!
This technology delivers the most comfortable laser procedure available, and has a complication rate less than 1%. Patients are always surprised at how easy it is. In fact, it just requires a quick office visit. You can resume normal activities soon after. The only restriction is no heavy exercise. You will have virtually no downtime and minimal bruising or scarring. Any slight pain is usually abated with ibuprofen. Follow-up is simple: two weeks of wearing compression stockings and then you’re good to go back to your active Colorado lifestyle!
