Microneedling
Cosmetic Treatments / Microneedling
Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling uses the natural repair system of your body to treat a variety of cosmetic skin imperfections. Using a small pen-like device, our highly-trained aesthetic nurse Kelli Weaver will create micro-punctures in your skin to trigger your body’s collagen and elastin production, naturally improving the condition of your skin.
To learn more about the microneedling process and how the procedure can help you look and feel rejuvenated, contact Artemis Colorado Vein & Cosmetic Center today online or at 303-955-8314 to schedule free facial assessment. Microneedling is offered only at our office in Westminster, serving Broomfield, Louisville and other Colorado communities.

What Issues Can Microneedling Address?
By stimulating the skin’s natural healing response, microneedling jumpstarts collagen production and smooth, luminous skin. The relatively painless process is safe for all skin tones, and can effectively address common skin issues such as:
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Sun damage
- Rough skin
- Stretch marks
- Pores
- Some mild scars
The microneedling procedure is one of the best ways to create collagen and maintain beautiful skin. You can return to your regular activities immediately after your treatment session. While some patients only require a single treatment every year to achieve an ideal outcome, most patients undergo a series of microneedling treatments over time. We generally recommend a series of two to three treatments at intervals of six to eight weeks. Patients with more pronounced wrinkles may need more sessions.
Our aesthetic nurse Kelli will fully explain what you can expect from the procedure and provide you with detailed instructions on how to best care for your skin in the days following your treatment.
Optional Enhancement: Speed Healing with PRP Therapy
As a treatment enhancement option, we offer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) stimulation. PRP therapy uses injections made from a concentration of the patient's own platelets. Kelli, our skilled aesthetic nurse, first draws a small amount of the patient’s blood and then places it in a centrifuge that isolates the platelets and forms the PRP solution. Patients love this treatment addition because it speeds the post-microneedling healing process.
Does Microneedling Hurt?
Microneedling has been described as feeling similar to having sandpaper gently moved across the skin. Although certain areas may respond to treatment more comfortably than others, the majority of microneedling patients find the process to be quite tolerable and easily worth the mild discomfort.
You will likely experience some sensitivity and redness immediately after treatment. While some patients report complete healing within 24 hours, others have some level of redness for up to two to four days after treatment. Your specific recovery time will depend on the extent of your microneedling needs and unique healing time.
Are Microneedling Results Immediate?
Immediately after your microneedling procedure, you will likely notice a “glow” to your skin. Over the course of days and weeks following your treatment, visible changes will emerge in your skin. Your results will continue to improve over the following months as your skin’s collagen production continues.
Sunscreen should be regularly applied during the first week of recovery, but standard cosmetics can typically be used after the first 24 hours.
