Five Years of Vein Care Excellence

This is a wonderful time at Artemis – Vein & Cosmetic Center as we celebrate our 5-year anniversary! We’ve been reflecting on where we’ve been and who we are now, and wanted to share a little of our story.

Artemis actually started in 2012 – at that time, though, we were renting a room in the Conifer Medical Center, and only seeing about 100 patients a year. Like many small clinics, it was important to begin a little slowly in order to lay a strong foundation for the years to come. April 2014 is when we acquired our very own space in Westminster, which is why we count that as the “official” beginning. Since then we’ve hit other milestones: opening a second space in Conifer in 2016, and hiring excellent team members who are a big part of the reason patients have such a positive experience during treatment. Most recently, we welcomed Kelli Weaver, our Aesthetic Nurse, whose specialty is customizing cosmetic treatments for each unique patient. All-in-all, we’ve changed the lives of more than 2000 vein and cosmetic patients over the past five years, and are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with each one.

The joy and care we take in our work comes from the lasting impact we’re able to have on people’s lives. When patients are suffering from venous disease, many find it hard to imagine that they will ever feel better, and are almost resigned to living the rest of their lives with symptoms like pain, fatigue, swelling, and varicose and spider veins. Others have had symptoms so long it’s their new “normal.” As one patient told us, before treatment she:

“…had no idea the fatigue and exhaustion in my legs was so much!”

After treatment and healing, however, the difference in how a patient feels is clear.

One of the principles that we’ve adhered to from the beginning is remaining on the cutting edge of treatment options and technology. We treat venous disease (including varicose veins) with the state-of-the-art CoolTouch CTEV laser, which generates less heat and leaves the patient with less after-treatment bruising and a faster recovery time. Another advantage of this high-tech tool is that it leaves almost no evidence of the procedure. As another patient said in an online review:

“I had a varicose vein that was getting pretty ugly and now you would never know that it was even there!”

To see the difference this treatment can make, check out the before and after pictures right here. We also have our own ultrasound machine in the clinic that we use for diagnosing venous disease. This saves our patients time and money because it means they don’t have to go to another facility for their ultrasound.

In addition to treating venous disease, we also offer a full range of cosmetic procedures, including Botox®, Kybella®, dermal fillers like Juvéderm®, Latisse®, and microneedling. As with our vein treatments, we also use the best cosmetic tools available today, such as SkinPen®, the first FDA-cleared microneedling device. Our patients love working with Kelli and give her high praise for her skills and cosmetic knowledge. One patient writes, “Wow! Kelli, the RN, is amazing! Very thorough, honest and skilled. I have been having Botox for over a decade, and she is the first person to ever review and explain EVERYTHING that was happening during treatment. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel like I was being ripped off. Will be going back for sure!” No matter what kind of treatment a patient receive at Artemis, they can count on being seen and treated as a person with a unique history and set of needs.

Kelli, and our other team members Gene, Lisa, Stacy, and Trent, are the reasons patients love Artemis and recommend us to others. Each person has a crucial role to play in patient care, and all fulfill these roles with skill and professionalism. One patient comment highlights the care each team member provides:

“From day one I felt like I was part of their family. I had a situation with pain in my lower leg. I called to set an appointment explained what was going on and within just a short time got a personal call from Dr. Pinsinski. He wanted to see me ASAP. He came up with a game plan to resolve the issues. Needless to say all of my appointments went great and all issues have been resolved. Gene is a wizard with the ultrasound. Lisa is so kind and helpful with recovery and follow up. Trent and Stacy made me feel relaxed and comfortable when checking in and out. No doubt the best team in the business. Thanks again for everything you did for me!”

We have to admit that we love feedback like this – knowing that we are able to really serve and improve the lives of patients is why we do what we do.

If you have been experiencing chronic discomfort in your lower legs, or noticed the appearance of spider veins or varicose veins, consider giving us a call. We will be glad to discuss your symptoms over the phone and recommend whether it might be worth coming in for a consultation.
